Why the struggle happens

It was never about effort or ability

If reading and spelling have always been hard, there is a reason, and it is not the one you were probably given. Here is what actually goes wrong, and what it takes to put it right.

Three things happen, almost always in this order

It is almost never a lack of effort or intelligence. It is gaps in learning. The foundations are missed or taught too fast, so everything built on top of it wobbles.

1

It's not your fault

Learning needs to be multi sensory, fun, fast and easy, to make it stick, when your brain learns differently. Sounds, letters and how they blend were never fully mastered, so decoding new words stays a guessing game.

2

School can kill confidence

Falling behind quietly chips away at self belief until a child, teen or adult, decides reading is just not for them. The avoidance that follows looks like laziness from the outside. It is almost always self protection.

3

The fix is structure

Clear, sequential, multi sensory, fast and easy videos will get you reading in record time. Nothing is assumed, nothing is rushed, and every step rests on the one before it.

In Liz's own words

What the school system does not tell you

You did not cause this. You are not broken. Your child is not broken. And struggling with reading does not indicate a low level of intelligence.
School methods do not fail slowly. They fail silently. By the time anyone realises, the damage is often already done.
You are not buying tutorial lessons. You are accessing literacy instruction, reading practice, confidence rebuilding and a long term support structure. That is the real value.
You do not have to be perfect. You just have to be consistent. Ten minutes a day.
Why The Ten Minute Tutor is different

Finally, a reading and spelling program that is fast and easy

It is not just about reading and spelling, it is about building confidence and a sense that I can actually do this.

👩‍🏫

Guided by a real teacher

You are never left to figure it out alone. Every lesson is taught step by step, building understanding, connection and trust, one key skill in around ten minutes.

🧭

Clear and easy to follow

You are shown exactly what to do, then given the chance to practise straight away. No confusion, no overwhelm, just simple explanations that make it finally click.

🌱

Confidence grows with skill

As understanding builds, so does belief. That moment of I can do this appears, often sooner than expected, reinforced by inspiring stories built into the program.

The method

Five design choices that make the difference

Every one of them exists because Liz watched her own three children struggle inside a system that was not built for the way they learn.

🎨

Multi sensory teaching

Seeing, hearing, saying and doing, all in the same lesson. Information that arrives through more than one channel is far more likely to stick.

1

One skill per lesson

Never two, never a whole topic at once. A single focus is what makes ten minutes enough, and what makes progress feel achievable rather than endless.

⏱️

Short enough to actually do

Ten minutes fits into a real day, even a hard one. Consistency beats intensity, and a program only works if it is one you keep coming back to.

Replay without judgement

Watch a tutorial once or fifteen times. No teacher sighs, no classmates waiting, no reason to pretend you understood something you did not.

💛

Confidence taught deliberately

Life skills tutorials and interviews with people who struggled at school sit alongside the literacy work, because skill without self belief does not hold.
