Built on roots, grown with purpose

Every garden should be more than just a space.

At Eden Building & Landscaping, our name carries a story close to our founder's heart. It is a symbol of faith, and a vision of what outdoor spaces can be — like the Garden of Eden itself, a place of peace, abundance, and renewal.

Our founder Eduardo grew up on a Cuban farm, where nature was both a playground and a teacher. That connection shaped his dream of creating outdoor spaces that bring people closer to each other, to the land, and to something greater.

Backed by a team with years of industry experience, we offer a complete, one-stop solution for all your outdoor needs — everything required to create, enhance, and maintain your outdoor space, for domestic & commercial clients alike.

Design & Planning

Great gardens start on paper. Our designers work with you — and with Ed's builder's eye — to shape paving, entertainment areas, pergolas, alfrescos and decking; to design around new or existing pools; and to connect the outdoors of the house with the garden, front yards and back yards alike.

We design sustainable gardens: we heavily recommend native plants, and we use recycled materials for carpentry work wherever we can.

1

Consultation

Meet with Ed and our designer on site to talk through goals, ideas, and everything specific to your garden. Consultations incur a fee; afterwards we send a quote to complete the design project.

2

Concept Plan

A design concept plan establishing layout, spatial flow and overall design direction. Includes three revisions: plant selections, colour palette, material specifications.

3

Master Plan

Surveyors may be needed for elevations (we can recommend companies). Final plans compare current vs proposed state, with measurements, elevations, a full plant schedule (colours, sizes, varieties, quantities), side views and key specifications.

Design questions, answered

My house hasn't been built yet — can I still get a design?+

Yes — and we encourage it. Designing during the build phase lets us collaborate with your architect or building designer on indoor-outdoor flow, levels, drainage and access.

I have a pool — can you design around a new or existing pool?+

Yes, pools are a speciality. We design surrounds, decking and planting that tie the pool into the whole garden.

Macro leaf detail — the Eden signature image
How long does the design process take?+

Typically 3–6 weeks, depending on the size of the project.

Do you need to return to the property during design?+

Yes — at times we revisit the property for further measurements or to clarify details.

What's involved in the site/design consultation?+

A 60–90 minute session on site (or online) with one of our designers. We listen to your needs, walk the property — sun and shade, privacy, access, problem areas — then explore design directions from both a designer's and a builder's perspective. Online consults follow the same structure via video call: send plans ahead and walk us around the garden. If your home is mid-build, we can meet nearby.

Does the design consultation cost anything?+

Yes — a fee applies, depending on the size of your project.

Outdoor Building

Whether we completed your design or you bring your own drawings, we follow them faithfully through the build. We use recycled timber wherever we can — better for the environment, and it presents beautifully.

Attention to detail comes standard: we coordinate electricians, plumbers and trades, we're fully qualified and insured, and we pride ourselves on a clean, organised work site. Domestic & commercial.

1

Meet the team

3

Handover

A full walk-around on completion — we discuss your feedback and finalise every detail before we call it done.

Building questions, answered

Does my build require permits?+

Yes, if it's under cover — check your local council's website for the specifics, and we can point you in the right direction.

If we attach a structure to the house, will it affect the house?+

We assess this carefully during planning and engineer the structure accordingly — protecting your home is part of the job.

Corten steel and paving construction details
What will it cost?+

Every project differs. Your quote considers materials, labour, property size, slope and access.

How long will it take?+

Our team estimates once we've assessed the plans and the site — it depends on design complexity, size and slope, and material availability.

Landscaping

Full garden builds — paving, planting, retaining walls, lawns and everything between. Whether the drawings are ours or someone else's, we follow them through the build with the same care; if the drawings are not ours, we may require a site visit to confirm measurements.

Landscaping questions, answered

Can you work from another designer's drawings?+

Do you landscape commercial properties?+

Yes — we service domestic and commercial properties, from backyard transformations to full commercial grounds.

Garden Maintenance

A garden is never finished — it's looked after. Our maintenance crews keep domestic & commercial gardens healthy, tidy and thriving through every season.

Quoting is simple: on-site if required; otherwise an hourly labour rate, with extra charges for machinery or green-waste removal.

1

Tailored programs

A maintenance plan built around your garden and your calendar — not a one-size-fits-all visit.

2

Experienced gardeners

Qualified, full-time staff who know plants — pruning, feeding and seasonal care done properly.

3

Central point of contact

A reliable system that keeps you up to date, with live tracking of the team — you always know who's coming and when.

4

Beautiful gardens, year round

Regular care means your garden looks its best in every season, not just the week after a visit.

Maintenance questions, answered

How often should my garden be maintained?+

It depends on the garden — most homes suit a fortnightly or monthly program, while commercial sites often run weekly. We'll recommend a frequency when we tailor your program.

What's included in a maintenance visit?+

Typically mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, hedging and seasonal feeding — tailored to your garden. Machinery work and green-waste removal are charged as extras.

Do you offer commercial maintenance contracts?+

Yes — we service domestic and commercial properties, with ongoing contracts, a central point of contact and live tracking of the team.

Can you handle very large trees?+

Yes — large-scale machinery is available, and we can organise traffic control if the job requires it.

Do you remove the stump and green waste?+

We can include stump grinding and full green-waste removal in your quote — just let us know what you'd like done.

We started Eden because…

Melbourne homeowners deserve better.

The building trade too often runs on the tradesperson's schedule — not yours. Unanswered calls. Vague timelines. Projects that drift.

Eden was founded as the alternative. Every project is held to a single standard — serving Melbourne's north-east, and the clients who return to us by choice.
