Directions for Proflo Painters.

Same business, same badge, different ways of showing it. Concept 07 is the newest and it is the rustic brief pushed further than 06 went. Open them on your phone as well as on a laptop, then tell us which one feels like Proflo.

Homepage concepts

Concept 08 is the newest. Concepts 07 and 06 were earlier answers to the same brief from our call, and the warm and full colour directions are kept below them.

Concept eight, saloon and western direction with a hand cut sign plate
Concept 08

Saloon

The same rustic idea taken further, and warmer. Saloon and western rather than country parlour, with a bit of camping in it. The green is gone: this one runs on charcoal, old browns, white and a burnt auburn. Your badge words sit up top on a hand cut sign plate, and every surface carries a fine ruled texture rather than flat colour, so the page feels like paper and timber instead of a screen. Your engraved badge is the artwork throughout.

Concept 07

Signwritten

You said you wanted it rustic, back in time, country rather than city, and that nothing you had seen had any personality. So this one is built as a hand painted trade board. The page runs as a set of signboards, deep ink with cream lettering, alternating with raw canvas the colour of a drop sheet, and the edges between them are torn rather than ruled. The type is old wood letter, your name is faded into the background like paint on a brick wall, and there is a brush stroke under the headline. Black and white off your badge, army green as the only other colour, no reds anywhere. Lato is kept from your current site so one thing of yours carries across.

Concept 06

Old School

Built from what you said on the call. Back in time and a bit rustic, country rather than city, aged paper instead of screen white, Victorian display type and double rules. Your badge stays black and white because that is how it was drawn, and army green is the only other colour on the page. The section up top is about the character jobs and the old Victorian homes you said you want more of.

Full Spectrum

Colour turned all the way up. Your gold leads and then the whole spectrum follows it through the page, orange, coral, rose, violet and teal. The visualiser carries every one of them so a visitor can try a real feature wall.

All In The Prep

Built from your onboarding form. Your own slogan carries the whole page, and it is warm and bright the way you asked, with your gold running through sunlit cream, terracotta and clay. Homes, restorations, new builds, schools and shops, the colour visualiser, the quote quiz and the chat assistant all included.

What is real and what is not

Real: the Proflo Painters name, your badge, your phone number, your email, and the words about family run, old school workmanship, transparent quoting and a tidy worksite. Those came from your own website and from what you told us on the call.

Your badge is now on the pages as the original vector artwork you sent with the onboarding form, so it stays perfectly sharp at any size. It also sits behind every empty photo slot, which is why those slots still look like Proflo rather than like blank boxes.

Not real yet: the gallery slots are marked placeholders waiting on photos of your own jobs, and the review wording is labelled as an example because there is no Google listing for real ones to come from. No price, no warranty, no licence and no years figure appears anywhere, because none of those are published and we would not invent one.

The quote forms and the chat are demonstrations. Nothing is sent and nothing is stored while these are concepts.

What we still need from you

The five files that came through with your onboarding form were all versions of your logo, which is exactly what we needed for the branding. What we do not have yet is photography.

So when you have a minute, these three would finish the pages off: photos of your own finished jobs, especially the older places and the character work, the walkthrough video you mentioned, and the mosaic and feature job photos once the builder sends them through. Every slot that shows your badge today is waiting on one of those.

The screenshots of the sites you like are still worth sending too. They would tell us whether concept 07 has landed where you pictured it.

Side by side

What is different, point by point

Compared against www.proflopainters.com.au as it stood on 5 September 2026

I went through your current site properly before I built anything, so the concepts are not a fresh coat of paint. Every point below is a real difference between what is on your site today and what is on those three pages above.

The search side of it is measured separately in the check underneath this.

01

The phone number is on every page, and it taps to call

Your site today

The number 0426 472 399 appears on one page out of five, the contact page. It is not in the header, not in the footer, and not on the homepage. It is also not a link anywhere on the site, so on a phone it cannot be tapped. A customer has to read it, remember it and type it into their keypad.

In the concepts

The number is in the header of all three concepts, in the contact band and in the footer, and every one of those is a tap to call link. One tap and the phone is ringing.

02

There is a way to ask for a quote on the first screen

Your site today

The only button on the homepage is Learn more. To ask for a price you have to notice the menu, go to the contact page, and fill in Name, Email and Message. There is no phone field on that form, so an enquiry arrives without the one detail needed to ring back.

In the concepts

A quote form sits in the first screen of all three, with the Proflo badge on top of it. Four short questions, then preferred name, mobile, email and suburb, with the mobile asked for directly. On the concepts it is a demonstration and nothing is sent.

03

The photographs are of your work

Your site today

None of the photographs on the site are of a Proflo job. Every image is stock photography, including all five images on the Project Gallery page, which is the page a customer opens to decide whether to trust you with their house.

When it is built

The gallery slots are left as marked placeholders rather than filled with more stock, so nothing on the page pretends to be your work. They are captioned Photo of a real job goes here, ready for photos off your phone.

04

Nothing else is advertised on your website

Your site today

Powered by Webador sits in the footer of all five pages, linking away to the company that hosts it. It is their advertising, on your website, under your business name.

In the concepts

Nothing on the page advertises anyone but Proflo Painters. The only credit is a single Website by Scalus line in the footer.

05

Someone can get an answer at ten at night

Your site today

Outside the contact form there is no way to ask a question. A visitor who wants to know whether you do exteriors, whether one room is worth your time, or roughly how it works, has to send a message and wait.

In the concepts

A chat on all three answers the twelve questions painters actually get asked, in Proflo's own words, then takes a name, a mobile and an email. It never invents a price, a warranty or a review. On the concepts it is a demonstration and nothing is sent.

06

The site says what the job actually involves

Your site today

The services page describes interior, exterior and feature walls in a paragraph each. There is nothing on what is included, what the prep involves, or what happens between ringing you and the work starting.

In the concepts

A four step section on how a quote works, a promise section written from your own words about transparent quoting, reliable timelines and a tidy worksite, and a set of answered questions covering cost, areas, small jobs and timing.

07

A search engine can tell you are a painter in Melbourne

Your site today

The site carries one piece of machine readable information, an Organization tag with a logo. There is nothing that tells Google it is a local business, what it does, where it works or what it charges. Four of the five pages also have an empty description tag, including the homepage.

When it is built

The concepts ship deliberately hidden from search, because they are demonstrations. The full local business markup, service markup and answered question markup goes on when the real site is built.

08

The suburbs you actually travel to are named

Your site today

The only location on the whole site is the phrase Melbourne, Australia. No suburb is named anywhere. Someone in your own area searching for a painter near them has nothing to match against.

When it is built

The concepts say Melbourne only, on purpose, because we would rather ask you than invent a list. Once you say which suburbs you travel to, they go in the page title, the copy and the footer.

09

Reviews are ones a customer can check

Your site today

There is no Google Business Profile for Proflo Painters, so there is nothing a customer can independently verify. The three reviews on the homepage are not linked to anything and cannot be checked.

When it is built

The review section is clearly labelled as example wording, and it says plainly on the page that there is no Google listing yet. Nothing is dressed up as a real customer.

10

ChatGPT and the rest can actually read you

Your site today

Your site has no llms file and does not welcome the AI crawlers by name. ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI each read a site with their own crawler, so today they largely go past you.

When it is built

Every build ships an llms file that describes the business in its own words with a question and answer section, and a crawler list that names every current AI crawler as allowed. Detail is in the check below.

11

Tapping the number calls you

Your site today

Your phone number is written on the page but it is not a link, so on a phone it cannot be tapped to call.

In the concepts

The number is a tap to call link in every concept, in the header and again at the bottom of the page.

12

The questions people ask before they book

Your site today

Nothing on your site is published as question and answer data. Wherever you do answer a question, it is text on a page and nothing more, so an assistant cannot lift the answer and hand it to the person who asked.

In the concepts

The concepts answer them in a question and answer block. It is the strongest single signal there is for being quoted by ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI overviews.

13

Your reviews can be read back by a machine

Your site today

Your reviews are not published in a form a machine can read, so they cannot show as stars in a result or be quoted to someone asking for a recommendation.

When it is built

The built site publishes them with review data attached, so the same reviews you already have start doing work in search as well as on the page.

14

The line under your listing in Google

Your site today

Your homepage has no description tag, so Google writes the grey line under your listing for you out of whatever text it finds.

In the concepts

Every concept ships a written description on every page, so the words that sell you are the words that show.

15

Your photos are described

Your site today

20 percent of the images on your homepage carry a text description, so most of your own work is invisible to search and to a screen reader.

In the concepts

The concepts describe 100 percent of theirs in plain words.

Every line above was read off the pages themselves on 5 September 2026, both yours and the three concepts, so you can check any of it while we talk. The search and AI search side is measured in the check below.

Your website today

SEO & AI Search Check

Checked www.proflopainters.com.au on 5 September 2026

Before any of the concepts existed I ran your current website through the same check I run on every Scalus site. It scored 69 out of 100 for how ready it is for Google, and 19 out of 100 for how ready it is for AI search.

That second number is the one worth talking about. It is not a measure of how the site looks. It is whether ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI overviews can read the site, understand what Proflo Painters does, and quote it when somebody asks them for a recommendation. At 19 out of 100 the answer today is mostly no.

In total 13 items came back needing attention. They are listed below in the order I would fix them, and every one of them is included in a Scalus build.

What I would fix

13 items
  1. Missing

    Meta description

The description is the grey text under that headline. It is what makes someone click you instead of the next result.

What I would do: Write a description for every page that says what you do and where.

  2. Missing

    AI crawlers welcomed

The AI crawlers are not welcomed by name. ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI each read the site with their own crawler, and if they are not named they may not read you at all.

What I would do: Name every current AI crawler as allowed.

  3. Missing

    llms.txt

There is no llms file. This is the file AI models read to understand a business in its own words, and almost no local business has one yet.

What I would do: Add an llms file with a summary, your services, your area and an FAQ.

  4. Weak

    Page title

The page title is the blue headline Google shows in the results. Yours is not doing the work it could.

What I would do: Write a title that names the service and the suburb.

  5. Weak

    Indexable

The tags that tell Google it may show your images large and quote more of your text are missing.

What I would do: Add the full robots meta directives so your listing can show more.

  6. Weak

    Social share tags

When someone shares your site in a message or on Facebook it will not show a preview card.

What I would do: Add social share tags with a real image of your work.

  7. Weak

    WebSite schema

The site itself is not described to search engines.

What I would do: Add website level data.

  8. Weak

    FAQ schema

You have no question and answer data. This is the strongest single signal for getting quoted by ChatGPT and by Google AI overviews.

What I would do: Add a set of real questions and answers to the site.

  9. Weak

    Review schema

Your reviews are not readable by machines, so they cannot show as stars or be quoted back to someone asking for a recommendation.

What I would do: Publish your reviews with review data attached.

  10. Weak

    Image filenames

Your image filenames are camera codes rather than words, which is a free ranking signal going to waste.

What I would do: Rename images to describe what they show.

  11. Weak

    Sitemap lastmod dates

Your sitemap does not say when pages last changed, so recrawls are slower than they need to be.

What I would do: Add last modified dates to the sitemap.

  12. Weak

    Security headers

Some standard security headers are missing. Not a ranking issue, but it is the sort of thing that gets a site flagged.

What I would do: Add the standard security headers.

  13. Weak

    HTML validity

The page code has validity errors, which can quietly break how a crawler reads it.

What I would do: Clean up the markup errors.

Checked on 5 September 2026 with the same free checker at scalus.app/seo-geo-checker. Scores move as a site changes, so this is a snapshot of that day, not a permanent grade.
