FOR RYAN · RB MAINTENANCE, ELTHAM

Three ways your website could work.

Every one of these is built from things you already made: your own photographs, your own words off your flyer, and your own brand colours sampled rather than guessed. Nothing here is a stock photo and nothing is invented.

The one thing worth sorting first

You are currently running four different looks at once, and they do not agree with each other. That is not a criticism, it is just what happens when a business grows out of an older one. It is also the cheapest thing on this page to fix, and it changes every other decision.

Pick one and everything else follows: the website, the ute, the shirts, the flyer, the socials.

WHAT IS LIVE RIGHT NOW

Four identities, all yours, all in use today.

These are screenshots of what a customer finds when they look you up this week.

The RB Maintenance badge used on Instagram

The badge

Black and gold, a roof mark, and the line local, reliable, trustworthy. This is your Instagram picture and it is the strongest thing you have.

Sage green and cream with a handwritten wordmark. A completely different feel to the badge, and it is what you hand people.

Same business, same photos, three different arguments.

Each one is a real working homepage, not a picture of one. Open them on your phone as well, because most of your customers will.

DIRECTION ONE

The Badge

Built on your Instagram mark: black, gold, and a heavy condensed type that looks like it belongs on the side of a ute. Photography leads, and the whole page is aimed at the person who wants a tradesperson who will actually turn up.

DIRECTION TWO

Proudly Local

Built on your flyer instead: the sage green, the cream, and your own script wordmark in the header. Warmer, more editorial, and it suits Eltham. Your own line, proudly local and committed to quality, is the centre of the page.

DIRECTION THREE

Ready to Sell

A different bet entirely. Pre sale restorations is the first thing in your own Facebook bio, and Eltham is a market where what a buyer sees in the first ten seconds moves the number. This page sells that one service, hard, and lets everything else sit behind it.

Side by side

What is different, point by point

RB Maintenance has been trading since December 2014 and has more than a hundred photographs of finished work published, and there is still no website. Everything lives on a Facebook page, an Instagram account and a single Yellow Pages listing that has no website field to fill in.

There is also no Google Business Profile, which is the one that costs the most, because it is what decides whether you appear at all when somebody searches for a tradesperson near Eltham.

Every point below is something you can see on screen while we talk.

01

Four different identities, all live today

No website. A Facebook page and an Instagram account, plus one Yellow Pages listing. No Google Business Profile.

The Instagram badge is black and gold. The flyer is sage green and cream with a script wordmark. The Facebook profile picture is still The Great Outdoors, the old mowing business. The Facebook page address still reads ryanshomeandautomotive, a third name. Four looks, none of them agreeing.

In the concepts

The top of this page puts all four side by side so the choice is visible in one glance, and directions one and two each commit fully to one of them so you can see what either actually looks like before deciding.

02

What a customer sees first on Facebook

No website. A Facebook page and an Instagram account, plus one Yellow Pages listing. No Google Business Profile.

The page is called RB maintenance and the profile picture is a photograph of the old mowing brand. Someone who has been given your name has to work out for themselves that they are in the right place.

In the concepts

Every concept opens with one name, one mark and one line about what the business does, so there is nothing to work out.

03

The link people actually share

No website. A Facebook page and an Instagram account, plus one Yellow Pages listing. No Google Business Profile.

Anyone recommending you forwards facebook.com/ryanshomeandautomotive, which carries a business name you no longer trade under. The link works against the recommendation.

In the concepts

A short address that is the business name, and a link preview card built on purpose so it shows the headline and the enquiry form rather than a cropped logo.

04

Turning up on Google Maps

No website. A Facebook page and an Instagram account, plus one Yellow Pages listing. No Google Business Profile.

There is no Google Business Profile for RB Maintenance. We checked twice, across a 25 kilometre and then a 60 kilometre radius of Eltham, and there is nothing. That means you cannot appear in the map results, in the local pack, or for anyone searching a trade plus a suburb, which is how most of this work gets found.

When it is built

The concept pages cannot fix this on their own. Claiming the listing, wiring it to a real website and getting the first reviews onto it is the first job after a direction is picked, and it is the single highest value thing on this list.

05

The one directory that does list you

No website. A Facebook page and an Instagram account, plus one Yellow Pages listing. No Google Business Profile.

There is a Yellow Pages entry for RB Maintenance in Eltham under home maintenance and handymen, showing weekday hours of nine to five and your mobile. It has no website to link to, so anyone who finds it there has one option, which is to ring, and no way to see any of the work first.

When it is built

A website gives that listing and every other directory somewhere to point, so the people already finding you get to see the decks before they decide whether to call.

06

More than a hundred job photographs, hard to browse

No website. A Facebook page and an Instagram account, plus one Yellow Pages listing. No Google Business Profile.

The work is genuinely good and there is a lot of it, but it sits in a Facebook photo grid in the order it was posted. Nobody can filter it, nothing is grouped by trade, and none of it is searchable.

In the concepts

The same photographs, organised, captioned and grouped, with decking, painting, timber repairs, fencing and paving each able to stand on their own.

07

Three different service lists that do not match

No website. A Facebook page and an Instagram account, plus one Yellow Pages listing. No Google Business Profile.

The flyer lists four services. The Facebook bio lists five, in a different order. A separate post lists seven more, including landscaping, pressure cleaning and gardening. Depending on where somebody lands, they get a different idea of what you do.

In the concepts

One list, in your own words, taken from all three sources and reconciled, so painting, timber, decking, pre sale work, landscaping and cleaning all sit in one place.

08

Your flyer is doing a website's job

No website. A Facebook page and an Instagram account, plus one Yellow Pages listing. No Google Business Profile.

The flyer is genuinely good. It carries the full service list, the ten years, fully insured, the police check and the working with children check, and the phone number. The problem is it only reaches somebody you have physically handed it to, and it cannot be forwarded, searched or found.

In the concepts

Direction two takes the flyer's own colours, its script wordmark and its wording, and turns it into something that can be sent, searched and shared.

09

Being able to enquire without ringing

No website. A Facebook page and an Instagram account, plus one Yellow Pages listing. No Google Business Profile.

Every enquiry has to start with a phone call. Anyone who would rather type, or who is looking at nine at night, has no way to reach you at all.

In the concepts

A short qualifier sits at the top of every page and asks what the job is before it asks for a name, plus a chat that answers real questions and then takes the details itself.

10

Credentials that currently only appear on paper

No website. A Facebook page and an Instagram account, plus one Yellow Pages listing. No Google Business Profile.

Fully insured, a police check and a working with children check all appear on the flyer and nowhere a customer can find them online. For a tradesperson going into family homes, schools or childcare, that is the strongest thing you have and it is invisible.

In the concepts

Those three sit in the top screen of every direction, next to the phone number.

11

Reviews

No website. A Facebook page and an Instagram account, plus one Yellow Pages listing. No Google Business Profile.

There is nothing to read. No Google reviews, because there is no listing, and no recommendations showing on the Facebook page. Eleven years of work and a new competitor with twenty reviews looks more established than you do.

When it is built

Nothing has been invented on any of these pages. No stars, no testimonials and no client numbers appear anywhere, because none exist yet. Collecting the first ones is a first job, and it is why the photographs are doing the talking for now.

12

Being found for the work you want more of

No website. A Facebook page and an Instagram account, plus one Yellow Pages listing. No Google Business Profile.

Somebody searching for deck repairs or exterior painting around Eltham cannot find you, because there is no page to find. The jobs go to whoever does have one.

When it is built

Direction three is built entirely around pre sale revamps, which is the first service in your own Facebook bio and the one with the highest value per job.

Every line above was read off the pages themselves on 2 September 2026, both yours and the three concepts, so you can check any of it while we talk. The search and AI search side is measured in the check below.

Your website today

SEO & AI Search Check

Every Scalus site ships with the full search and AI search setup applied on day one. Here is what that covers.

You do not have a website for me to check yet

That is not a bad position to be in. It means nothing has to be undone. Every item on the checklist below is built into a Scalus site from the first day, rather than retrofitted onto a site that was never set up for it.

  • Every page titled and described for the searches your customers actually type.
  • Structured data so a machine knows you are a real business, what you do and the suburbs you cover.
  • An llms file and an open crawler list so ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI can read you and quote you.
  • A sitemap and a robots file, submitted to Google rather than left to be discovered.
  • Your reviews published in a form that can show as stars and be read back by an assistant.
STRAIGHT ANSWERS

What is real on these pages, and what is not.

Worth reading before you look, so nothing on the pages is a surprise.

Real, and you can check every line

  • Every photograph is yours, taken from your own Facebook and Instagram
  • Every service description uses your own wording, off your flyer and your posts
  • The colours are sampled from your flyer and your badge, not chosen by us
  • The script wordmark on direction two is lifted from your own flyer
  • Fully insured, police check and working with children check are your own published claims
  • Trading since December 2014, which is where ten years plus comes from
  • Your phone number, which you already publish on Yellow Pages, Facebook and your flyer
  • Your ABN, from the national business register

Deliberately left blank

  • No reviews or testimonials anywhere, because you do not have any published yet
  • No prices, because none are published and inventing them would be worse than useless
  • No job counts, warranties, response times or completion statistics
  • No claim about what a pre sale tidy up adds to a sale price
  • No team, because you work on your own
  • No email address on the public pages, on purpose
  • Every form and every chat is a demonstration and sends nowhere
  • The badge on direction one is a redraw, because your original only exists at 100 pixels
