The hand behind the frame

For over twenty years Studio9Art has worked with some of Australia’s finest artists, galleries and art institutions, preserving and displaying artwork for the public, museums, galleries, interior decorators and collectors alike.

A framer frames the piece

From hand finished timber frames matched exactly to your desired finish, to display plinths and Hangtrack rail systems, Studio9Art covers the whole job. The work arrives, it gets measured, and it leaves in something built for it.

The one rule that never moves is that the work is never cut to suit the frame. A framer frames the piece. That sounds obvious until you see how much framing is done the other way around, with a print trimmed at the edges so it fits a size somebody already had.

The same standard applies whether the piece came from an auction or out of a shoebox. Most of what matters most to people was never expensive.

Who we work with

Galleries, institutions and the shoebox

01

Artists and galleries

Whole exhibitions framed to one standard, transported and installed, so a show reads as a single considered wall.

02

Museums and decorators

Conservation work for pieces that have to survive, and framing specified to sit inside an interior that is already decided.

03

Everybody else

The jersey, the medals, the photograph nobody has a second copy of. The same bench and the same materials.

“They treat every piece as if it were their own. The framing disappears, and the work is all you see.”
