A mirror cut to your opening and framed in the same mouldings used for fine art, finished to sit with the room rather than against it.
Hand finished profileWhat it involves
Mirrors are framed here the way artwork is framed. The moulding is cut and joined in the studio, the finish is matched to the room, and the size is whatever the space actually calls for instead of whatever the homeware shop had.
That matters most in the awkward spots. A hallway that wants something tall and narrow, a mantle that wants a particular width, a bathroom where the mirror has to line up with what is already there. None of those are standard sizes.
Bring in a photo of the wall and the measurements, or the finish you are matching, and the frame can be built to it.
How it runs
The opening, the wall and what sits either side, so the mirror is proportioned to the room rather than to a box size.
The same hand finished mouldings used for artwork, toned to sit with the joinery, the paint or the frames already in the room.
Cut, joined and fitted in the studio, then delivered across Melbourne ready to hang.
Questions
Yes, and it is a good reason to have one made. Because the mouldings and the finishing are the same ones used on the artwork, a mirror can be built to belong with the frames already on the walls.
Large mirrors are heavier and need a moulding built for the weight, which changes the profile rather than ruling the job out. Bring the measurements in and it can be worked through.
Bathrooms are harder on a frame than any other room because of the moisture, so the finish and the sealing have to suit. Say where it is going before anything is chosen.
